How to apply for the Jette Parker Artists Programme
This page contains information about the Jette Parker Artists Programme and the auditions for singers, stage directors, opera music staff and ballet conductors.

Auditions are held for singers every Season and every second Season for opera and ballet conductors and opera répétiteurs.
There is not an upper or lower age limit for the Programme. However, applicants should bear in mind that the Programme is intended to benefit extremely gifted individuals at the start of their professional careers.
Singers, conductors or répétiteurs are expected to have some performance experience and to have completed training at an established music college (although this is not an essential requirement).
The Royal Ballet and Opera is an equal opportunities employer. We encourage applications from artists who are under-represented in opera.
Opera Music Staff
Applications for opera conductors and répétiteurs to join the Jette Parker Artists Programme for the 2026/27-2027/28 Seasons are currently closed.
Information for opera conductors and répétiteurs to join for the 2028-30 Seasons will be advertised on this webpage from Spring/Summer 2027.

Ballet Music Staff
Applications for ballet conductors to join the Jette Parker Artists Programme are currently closed.
Information for ballet conductors to join for the 2027-2029 Seasons will be advertised on this webpage from Autumn 2026. The JPAP Ballet Conductor Position has previously open along side The Royal Ballet Constant Lambert Fellowship. Candidates can be considered for both opportunities.

Stage Directors
Forthcoming opportunities for directors can be found under Opportunities. If you bring an established practice of devised theatre and are interested in exploring transferring your skills to opera, please also look under Opera Lab.
JPAP does not anticipate appointing a resident director for the 2027/28 Season onwards. If you would like to be added to a mailing list to be informed about future opportunities, please complete the JPAP mailing list form.
Other opportunities
Other opportunities such as short courses, observerships and training opportunities are available via the Jette Parker Artist Programme.
Applications take place throughout the year for a variety of opportunities and are offered to those wishing to further their professional development.
