How we hire

What is the selection process?

We aim to make the recruitment process as accessible and enjoyable as possible.  We really want to get to know you and better understand how you could bring your unique skills, knowledge and experience to the Royal Ballet and Opera.

We have designed our job application process to be as straightforward as possible and to ensure a fair process we can only accept applications that are completed on our standard online form, unless otherwise instructed on the job advert. If you are disabled and need the job description or application form in an alternative format, please contact the HR department: hr.recruitment@roh.org.uk

The application form has the following categories that you will need to complete:

  • Personal Details
  • Education and Employment details
  • Minimum essential criteria
  • Supporting statement
  • Diversity Profile Monitoring

The minimum essential criteria section and the supporting statement are your chance to illustrate why you are suitable for the position and form the basis of selection. Be thorough, but succinct in your answers and ensure that you provide evidence for any statements you make.

Transferrable skills can be important when describing how you meet the criteria for a role, just remember to be clear about how it is relevant and what you can do to fill any gaps in your skill or knowledge.

Given the broad range of job opportunities that we have available, if you are interested in a career with the Royal Ballet and Opera, please check the list of current vacancies and apply for a specific position suited to your skills. If you don’t currently have a vacancy to suit you please sign up for email alerts of future vacancies here.

You must have authorisation to work in the UK.
