Royal Opera House Friends' Membership is the perfect gift for ballet and opera lovers.
The Friends of the Royal Opera House were founded in 1962, and have helped to support the world’s best opera, ballet, music and dance for over 60 years.
Royal Opera House Friends get exclusive access to rehearsals and priority booking ahead of the public each Season. Membership is a charitable donation that supports the future of ballet, dance, opera and music.
When you click 'buy as a gift' you will be directed to the gift certificate page where you can select the gift voucher of your choice. You can add a message and an image at this stage. You can then decide how to surprise the recipient – by having the voucher sent to you or directly to the them on a date of your choice. The recipient can then activate their membership online using the details in the certificate.

To redeem your membership gift certificate you will need to join or renew via our Become a member webpage. Choose gift certificate as your payment method in the checkout.

- Gift certificate codes are valid for 36 months from date of purchase, or from date of being gifted if specified.
- Gift certificate codes cannot be used at the Royal Opera House cafés, bars and
restaurants, or in the shop. - Gift certificate codes cannot be redeemed for cash in part or whole. Gift membership codes cannot be refunded.
- Gift certificate codes cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
- Please note that your membership will run for 12 months and you will benefit from priority booking for four booking periods, but if your membership lapses, when you renew the membership it will run from the previous expiry date. We therefore recommend renewing your support in the designated month to ensure that you don’t miss the full benefits of priority booking.
- Please be aware that tickets may only be re-sold or exchanged by the ROH Box Office.
- If Friends sell tickets made available to them by virtue of their membership, in breach of the Terms and Conditions of Sale, ROH will terminate their membership.
- Membership prices rise annually. If a Gift Membership is purchased and there is a rise between purchase and activation of over one month, the recipient will be liable for additional costs.
