Originally from Pembrokeshire in West Wales, Alex started playing the trumpet with lessons from his local music service. He was a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales and National Youth Orchestra of Wales. Alex studied his Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and subsequently a Master of Arts degree at the Royal Academy of Music. Alex enjoys a varied freelance career with performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Philharmonia Orchestra, among others.
