Patrick Ashcroft grew up in Reading and completed a PhD in Cosmology at the University of Cambridge before studying at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He was the recipient of the John Scott Award from Scottish Opera and an Endowment Award from Grange Park Opera where he has sung Fenton (Falstaff). Additional past credits include Remendado (Carmen) and cover Lindoro (The Italian Girl in Algiers) for Scottish Opera, Triquet (Eugene Onegin) and Josef (Wiener Blut) for English Touring Opera and Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Almaviva (The Barber of Seville), Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Roberto (Roberto Devereux), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Vašek (The Bartered Bride) and Luigi (Il tabarro). Away from the RBO he is a keen and competitive cyclist and runner. He joined The Royal Opera Chorus in 2017.
