After over a decade away from the Royal Opera House stage, Ashton’s timeless reworking of Charles Perrault’s famous rags-to-riches story returns in a new production with choreography staged by Wendy Ellis Somes, set designs by Tom Pye and costumes by Alexandra Byrne. The award-winning creative team steeped in the magic of theatre, film, dance and opera brings a sumptuous new atmosphere to Cinderella’s ethereal world.
To celebrate the return of this glorious ballet, we invite you to join us for Cinderella: A Gala Celebration. All proceeds from this special opening night event will benefit the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Foundation, helping us secure the future of ballet and opera. Cinderella: A Gala Celebration is a black-tie optional event.
Marianela Nuñez and Vadim Muntagirov will lead the Company in the principal roles of Cinderella and the Prince for this premiere performance. Under the baton of Music Director Koen Kessels and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, the choreographer’s deft musicality and the Prokofiev’s transcendent score will come to life.
Premium tickets for Cinderella: A Gala Celebration, including seats for the performance, are available in the Grand Tier, Orchestra Stalls and Stalls Circle. These include a donation to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Foundation, invitations to pre-performance and interval receptions, and a post-performance dinner with the cast, creative team, and members of the Royal Opera House staff in the Paul Hamlyn Hall.
