Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat

Each year, thanks to the generosity of the Helen Hamlyn Trust, we invite an audience of people who have never experienced ballet or opera at the Royal Opera House to fill our Main Stage auditorium.

This year, we are delighted to welcome the families of the schools, teachers and students we have worked with through our RBO Schools Programme in the 2024/2025 Season. Focusing on ensuring greater access to the arts for children across the UK, the Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat will be inviting families from outside of London to attend the performance and will provide travel grants.

The Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat will take place on Saturday 20 December 2025 at 12.30pm with a performance of festive favourite, The Nutcracker.

Tickets for the Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat are only available to an invited audience.

The Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat has previously welcomed National Federation of Women’s Institutes, Girlguiding UK and a network of arts and health charities. We have also welcomed an audience of teachers and their families to the Royal Opera House.

The Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat is generously supported by The Helen Hamlyn Trust, in memory of the late Paul Hamlyn. Please direct any questions about the Helen and Paul Hamlyn Christmas Treat to the Community Engagement Team by emailing welcomeperformances@roh.org.uk
