Biography

Swiss-Seychellois soprano Chelsea Zurflüh trained in Bern with Barbara Locher and is a former member of Zurich Opera Studio, where her roles included Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro), Zaida (Il turco in Italia) and Atalanta (Serse). Her awards include First Prize at the Concours de Genève in 2024 and Orchestra Prize Winner at the Junge Opernstars/Emmerich Smola Competition in 2025. Recent highlights include Clori in Clori, Tirsi e Fileno at the Händel-Festspiele Halle, Serpina in Pergolesi’s La serva padrona and the title role in the world premiere of Fabian Müller’s Heidi feiert Weihnachten for Theater Orchester Biel-Solothurn and Licori in Vivaldi’s La fida ninfa at Innsbruck Festival of Early Music. Engagements for 2025/26 include a return to Zurich Opera for Sophie (Werther), Pamina (The Magic Flute) for Cologne Opera and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Soprano in Mozart's Requiem for Komische Oper Berlin. She makes her Royal Opera debut in the 2025/26 Season as Pamina.
