Russian soprano Elena Stikhina was the winner of both the Audience and CulturArte Prizes at the 2016 Operalia competition. Notable engagements since have included Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) in Baden-Baden and Munich, Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) at Paris Opera, Mimì (La bohème) at Berlin Staatsoper and her house debuts at the Salzburg Festival in the title role of Medée, Grand Théâtre de Genève in the title role of Aida, Metropolitan Opera in the title role of Suor Angelica and Deutsche Oper Berlin as Leonora (Il trovatore). Engagements for The Royal Opera have included Tosca and Aida. Enagements for 2024/25 include Amelia Grimaldi (Simon Boccanegra) at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Tosca and La forza del destino at La Scala, Milan, Pique Dame at Bayerische Staatsoper and Manon (Manon Lescaut) and Salome at Zurich Opera.
