Biography

Born in Poland, Adam Palka studied at the Gdansk Academy of Music and the Zurich Opera Studio. His recent highlights include singing the title role of Boris Godunov at La Scala, Timur (Turandot) and Gremin (Eugene Onegin) at the Liceu, Méphistophélès, Don Basilio, and Vodník (Rusalka) at Wiener Staatsoper, and Leporello at Staatsoper Berlin. As Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust, he has performed at The Royal Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Staatsoper Hamburg. He is a soloist at Staatsoper Stuttgart, where his wide-ranging repertoire has included Filippo II (Don Carlo), Fafner (Das Rheingold), Giorgio (I puritani), Boris Godunov, Rodolfo (La Sonnambula), Escamillo (Carmen), and Vodník. In the 2025/26 Season, Palka makes his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Commendatore (Don Giovanni). He also returns to Oper Stuttgart as Timur (Turandot), Count Rodolfo (La Sonnambula), and Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte). Previously for The Royal Opera: Commendatore, Timur and Méphistophélès. He sings the role of Pimen (Boris Godunov) in the 2025/26 Season at the Royal Opera House.
