Biography
Born in Poland, Adam Palka studied at the Gdansk Academy of Music and the Zurich Opera Studio. Recent highlights include the title role in Boris Godunov for La Scala, Milan, his Metropolitan Opera debut as Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Walter (Luisa Miller) for Hamburg Staatsoper, Timur (Turandot) and Gremin (Eugene Onegin) for Liceu, Barcelona, Méphistophélès (Faust), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Vodník (Rusalka) for Vienna State Opera and Leporello (Don Giovanni) for Staatsoper Berlin. As a soloist at Staatsoper Stuttgart, his repertory has included Filippo II (Don Carlo), Fafner (Das Rheingold), Giorgio (I puritani), Boris Godunov, Rodolfo (La sonnambula), Escamillo (Carmen), Vodník, Timur and Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte). His previous roles for The Royal Opera include Pimen (Boris Godunov), Commendatore, Timur and Méphistophélès, the latter of which he has also performed for Vienna State Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Staatsoper Hamburg.
