Agostino Cavalca



Originally from Italy and now based in Paris, Cavalca has been a costume designer for theatre and opera since 1982. He has worked with Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier since 1995 and with Damiano Michieletto since 2017. His costume designs for Leiser and Caurier include Giovanna d’Arco (La Scala, Milan), L’italiana in Algeri, Norma and Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Salzburg Festival), Rossini’s Otello (Opera Vlaanderen), Die Zauberflöte (Vienna State Opera), Lucia di Lammermoor (Opéra de Lyon), Der Rosenkavalier, Pelléas et Mélisande, Der Ring des Nibelungen and Don Carlo (Geneva) and Hamlet (The Royal Opera, Liceu, Barcelona) and Maria Stuarda, Hansel and Gretel, La Cenerentola, ll turco in Italia and The Barber of Seville (The Royal Opera). For Michieletto he has designed costumes for Rigoletto (Dutch National Opera), Don Pasquale (Paris Opera) and Alcina (Salzburg Festival).
