Biography

Ailyn Pérez is a graduate of Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts and Indiana University. She serves as an Artistic Advisor and on the faculty for the Vincerò Academy, and is an Opera for Peace Ambassador. For The Royal Opera she has sung Mimì, Violetta Valéry, Liù and Massenet's Manon. Recent highlights include Leonora (Il trovatore) at Houston Grand Opera, Mimì (La bohème) at the Metropolitan Opera, Vienna Staatsoper and Lyric Opera of Chiago, Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Tosca at Staatsopera Berlin, and Nedda (Pagliacci) at Bayerische Staatsoper. Her 2025/26 roles include Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) at the Metropolitan Opera, Aida (role debut) at Semperoper Dresden, and Desdemona (Otello), Nedda (Pagliacci) Marguerite (Faust) and Tosca for Bayerische Staatsoper. She appears in concert at the Enescu Festival, singing as a soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9, Verdi’s Requiem at Rome’s Sala Santa Cecilia, and in the world premiere of Jake Heggie’s EARTH: A Choral Symphony (Madison Symphony Orchestra). In the 2025/26 Royal Opera Season, she sings the title role of Tosca.
