Alex Esposito was born in Bergamo. He has collaborated with conductors Abbado, Pappano, Chung, Nagano, Gatti, Biondi, Chailly and Mariotti and directors Mussbach, Guth, Vick, Michieletto, Alden, Pelly and Pizzi. Appearances include at La Scala, Milan, La Fenice, Venice, Vienna State Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera House, Teatro Real, Madrid and Paris Opera. Recent highlights include L'elisir d'amore, Semiramide, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Il turco in Italia and Macbeth for Bayerische Staatsoper, Lucrezia Borgia, Il barbiere di Siviglia and La damnation de Faust for Rome Opera, Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Mosè in Egitto for Teatro di San Carlo, Naples, Don Carlo, Faust, Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Don Quichotte for Deutsche Oper Berlin, Don Carlo, Semiramide and Anna Bolena for La Fenice, Venice, Il turco in Italia, Don Giovanni and Rossini's Stabat Mater for La Scala, Milan, Die Zauberflöte and Il barbiere di Siviglia for Paris Opera and L’elisir d’amore at the Metropolitan Opera. Awards include the 2007 Franco Abbiati Prize and Kammersänger of the Bayerische Staatsoper (2020).
