Biography
Alexander Roslavets studied at the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory and is a former Young Artist of the Bolshoi. In 2016 he joined the ensemble of Staatsoper Hamburg, where his engagements have included roles in Otello, Lucia di Lammermoor, La bohème, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Siegfried and Das Rheingold (as Fafner), Die Zauberflöte, L’elisir d’amore, Il trovatore, Luisa Miller, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Saint François d'Assise, Maria Stuarda, Eugene Onegin and Varlaam. Recent engagements include house debuts at La Scala, Milan in the title role of Ali Baba, at the Metropolitan Opera as King Rene (Iolanta), the Glyndebourne Festival as Vodník (Rusalka) and La Monnaie, Brussels with the Mozart/Da Ponte Project, and appearances in Don Giovanni, as Ramfis (Aida) and as Colline (La bohème) for Deutsche Oper Berlin, Timur (Turandot) for The Royal Opera and Le Coq d’or for Komische Oper Berlin. Engagements for 2025/26 include Ruslan and Liudmila in Brussels, Boris (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) in Milan, Mazeppa in Frankfurt, Rusalka in Toulouse and Mälmo and Guillaume Tell in Hamburg.
