Aud Jebsen Young Dancer

Biography

 English dancer Amos Child joined The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers programme at the beginning of the 2025/26 season. 

Amos was born in Leeds, where he originally pursued gymnastics from the age of four up until 11. He transitioned to ballet for a few months, and joined White Lodge in 2018 at the age of 12. He then proceeded to join The Royal Ballet Upper School in 2022, and graduated in 2025 after 8 years of full-time training.

During his time at the school, he was awarded the Dame Monica Mason Award for the male graduate who had made the most progress during his time at the school, as well as the Progress and Endeavour Award for exceptional endeavour. 

Performances whilst at the school included dancing with The Royal Ballet in Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker, Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, Wayne McGregor’s MADDADDAM, and Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In his Summer performances, he also performed roles in Frederick Ashton’s Four Seasons, Goyo Montero’s BOLD, Mikaela Polley’s Fast Blue, Gemma Bond’s Assemblage, Joshua Junker's Remembrance, and Ariel Smith’s graduation piece Culmination, as well as leading roles in Antony Dowell’s Sleeping Beauty for his graduation performance.
