Biography
She began her career working with John Galliano for Christian Dior and with Stella McCartney. Since 2006 she has largely worked as a theatre costume designer. Theatre credits include Robin Hood and The Importance of Being Earnest (Royal Theatre, Copenhagen), Cabaret (Royal Danish Theatre), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (State Theatre, Helsingborg) and Romeo and Juliet (Aarhus Theatre). Opera costume designs include Tosca, Der Freischütz and Drot og Marsk (Royal Danish Opera), Idomeneo (Vienna State Opera), Der fliegende Holländer (Helsinki), West Side Story and Orphée aux enfers (Malmö), Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Don Giovanni (ROH), L’Ormindo (ROH at Shakespeare’s Globe) and Cavalleria rusticana (Norwegian National Opera), all with Kasper Holten, and Pagliacci (Norwegian National Opera), La traviata (Isareli Opera) and Der Rosenkavalier and Griselda (Royal Danish Opera). She has taught at the National School of Design, Copenhagen, designed the porcelain series 'Flora' for Royal Copenhagen and is the co-founder and designer at Vang Stensgaard, with whom she has created the set and costumes for La Sylphide (Royal Danish Ballet). In 2022 she was knighted by the queen of Denmark.
