Biography
Austrian-New Zealand bass Anthony Robin Schneider is a former member of Frankfurt Opera (2019-24) where his roles included King Heinrich (Lohengrin), Bartolo (The Marriage of Figaro), Grand Inquisitor (Don Carlo) and Sparafucile (Rigoletto). Between 2021-24, he sang Fafner and Hunding in Brigitte Fassbaender’s Ring at the Tyrolean Festival Erl, returning in 2023 for Bruckner‘s Te Deum and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. He has sung Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte) at Semperoper Dresden, Komische Oper Berlin, Theater Basel and Houston Grand Opera, King Heinrich at Dutch National Opera, and Guardian of Orest (Elektra) with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Other recent highlights include a concert performance at Cadogan Hall with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras, and singing the title role of Hercules in Barrie Kosky‘s production at Oper Frankfurt. Other concert credits include Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and Verdi's Requiem.
