Biography

Lithuanian soprano Ausrine Stundyte’s recent engagements include debuts as Polina (The Gambler) at Staatsoper Suttgart and Färberin (Die Frau ohne Schatten) at Dutch National Opera, the title role in Elektra and Judith (Duke Bluebeard’s Castle) at the Salzburg Festival, the title roles in Káťa Kabanová in Bergen and Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk in Geneva, Paris, Lyon and Antwerp, Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Erwartung and Teufel von Loudun in Munich, Elektra in Hamburg, Vienna and Rome, Renata (The Fiery Angel) in Madrid, Aix-en-Provence, Zurich, Munich and Lyon, Regan (Lear) in Munich, Marietta (Die tote Stadt) in Cologne, Judith in Venice, the title role in Salome in Berlin, Vienna, Bologna and Dallas, Carlotta (Die Gezeichneten) at Komische Oper Berlin, Bianca (Eine florentinische Tragödie) in Amsterdam (released on Pentatone, Opus Klassik Prize) and Tannhäuser in Venice and Antwerp. She has worked with conductors including Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda, Fabio Luisi, Kent Nagano, Julia Jones, Marco Armiliato, Dmitri Jurowski and Antonio Pappano, as well as with directors Calixto Bieito, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Robert Carsen, Peter Konwitschny, Graham Vick, David Alden, Christof Loy, Pierre Audi, Tatjana Gürbaca, Anthony Pilavachi and Dmitiri Tscherniakov. She made her debut with The Royal Opera in the 2023/24 Season as Tosca.
