Carla Teti

Italian costume designer Carla Teti made her Royal Opera debut in 2015 on Guillaume Tell. For Damiano Michieletto, Teti’s work includes Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci (The Royal Opera), La Damnation de Faust (Valencia, Rome), Un ballo in maschera (Milan), Die lustige Witwe, the world premiere of Perocco’s Acquagranda, Macbeth, Die Zauberflöte and the Mozart-Da Ponte operas (Venice), Il viaggio a Reims (Dutch National Opera, Opera Australia), Samson et Dalila (Paris Opera), Idomeneo and Rossini’s Otello (Theater an der Wien), La bohème and Falstaff (Salzburg Festival), and La donna del lago (Rossini Opera Festival, Pesaro). Other costume designs include Don Carlo and Il trovatore (Vienna State Opera) and Madama Butterfly (Bari) for Daniele Abbado, The Fiery Angel (Staatsoper Berlin) and The Turn of the Screw (La Monnaie, Brussels) for Andrea Breth and Semele (Komische Oper Berlin) for Barrie Kosky. Awards include the Franco Abbiati Award (2011), the ‘Stella della lirica’ for Best Costume Designer at the 2017 International Opera Awards and a 37th Annual Green Room Award in 2020 for the costumes for Il viaggio a Reims.
