Biography
Christian Van Horn earned his Master’s in Music from Yale University and is a graduate of The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He has appeared at The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Paris Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Salzburg and Munich festivals. He made his debut with The Royal Opera in the 2024/25 Season as Escamillo (Carmen). Engagements for 2026/27 include the title role in Duke Bluebeard’s Castle with the Münchner Philharmoniker and Les Grandes Voix in Monte Carlo and Paris, Jacopo Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra) at San Francisco Opera, the title role in Don Quichotte at Washington Concert Opera, Méphistophélès (Faust), Banco (Macbeth) and Escamillo at Bayerische Staatsoper and with Les Grandes Voix, the Diamond Jubilee: 60 Years at Lincoln Center at the Metropolitan Opera, Méphistophélès (La damnation de Faust), the title role in Don Giovanni and Escamillo at Vienna State Opera and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at Liceu, Barcelona.
