Biography

A British mezzo-soprano, her roles for The Royal Opera include Bersi (Andrea Chénier), title role of Phaedra, Blanca Delgado (The Exterminating Angel), Jenny (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny), Ariadne (The Minotaur), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Hansel, Carmen, Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Miranda (The Tempest), Judith (Bluebeard’s Castle) and Concepcion (L’heure espagnole). English National Opera roles include the title role in Gloriana, Erda (Das Rheingold), La Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica), Federica (Luisa Miller), Donna Elvira, Dorabella, Marguerite (The Damnation of Faust) and Nicklausse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann). Other engagements include Blanca Delgado at the Salzburg Festival, Paris Opera and Metropolitan Opera, Ruggiero in Alcina (Teatro Real, Madrid), Ježibaba in Rusalka (Bayerische Staatsoper), Kostelnička in Jenůfa (Rouen), Giulietta and Hansel (Metropolitan Opera), Carmen (Zurich Opera) and Giulietta (Dutch National Opera). Her 2025/26 engagements include Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) in her Rome Opera debut, Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking) for ENO and her role debut as Fricka (Das Rheingold) for Grange Park Opera.
