Biography
Colin Judson studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. For The Royal Opera he has sung Monostatos (The Magic Flute), Kunz Vogelgesang (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Pang (Turandot) and Snout (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). Appearances elsewhere include Don Curzio, Gamekeeper (Rusalka), Schoolmaster (The Cunning Little Vixen), Vogelgesang, Bardolfo and Dr Caius (Falstaff) and Squeak (Billy Budd) for the Glyndebourne Festival, Funeral Director (A Quiet Place) for Paris Opera, Old Prisoner (From the House of the Dead) for Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Spoletta (Tosca), Don Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro) and High Priest of Amon (Akhnaten) for English National Opera, Flute (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Opera North, Sellem (The Rake’s Progress) on tour in France, Mime (Siegfried) for Longborough Opera Festival, Opéra national du Rhin, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Lisbon and Finnish National Opera, Laca (Jenůfa) for Pacific Opera Victoria, Dr Caius for Garsington, Bob Boles (Peter Grimes) for Bergen National Opera and Pedrillo (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) for Cologne Opera. Engagements for 2025/26 include First Elder (Susanna) for Opera North. In the 2025/26 Royal Opera Season he sings Don Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro.
