Biography

Czech tenor Daniel Matoušek has been a permanent member of National Theatre Prague since 2022/23, where roles have included Nemorino (L’Elisir d’amore), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Edmonte (Manon Lescaut), Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Beppe (Pagliacci) and Tamino (The Magic Flute). Recent engagements elsewhere include Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and Mazal/Blankytný/Petřík in Robert Carsen’s new production of The Excursions of Mr Brouček, Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Nemorino, Tamino and Fenton (Falstaff) for National Theatre Brno.  In 2024 he released his debut album O Sole Mio, which features Italian and Neapolitan songs. Engagements for 2025/26 include appearances with the Bamberger Symphoniker. He makes his debut with The Royal Opera in the 2025/26 Season as Janek (The Makropulos Case).
