Daniel Oren



Born in Tel Aviv, Oren won the Herbert Von Karajan International Competition in 1975. Since his professional debut in 1978 at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, he has performed at theaters worldwide. Formerly music director at Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa and Teatro San Carlo, Naples, he now serves as the Artistic Director of Teatro Municipale Giuseppe Verdi, Salerno. His guest appearances include at the Metropolitan Opera, Paris Opera, Vienna State Opera and Teatro Real, Madrid, among others. He has conducted orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Recent highlights include Otello in Trieste, Madama Butterfly in Bologna, and performances at the 100th Arena di Verona Festival.
