Eddie Wade was awarded First Place and the Verdi/Wagner Prize at the 1996 National Mozart Competition and made his debut with The Royal Opera that same Season, as the Mandarin (Turandot). Additional roles for The Royal Opera include Peter (Hansel und Gretel), Bill (A Quiet Place), Alcindoro/Benoit (La bohème), Baron Douphol (La traviata), Fouquier-Tinville (Andrea Chénier) and Julio (The Exterminating Angel). Other highlights include appearances with Danish National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Nederlandse Reisopera, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Irish National Opera, Opera North, English Touring Opera, Opera Holland Park, The Philharmonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Conductors he has worked with include Mark Elder, Antonio Pappano, Esa Pekka Salonen, Speranza Scappucci, Maurizio Benini, Carlo Rizzi, Philippe Auguin, Andris Nelsons, Jakub Hrůša and Mark Wigglesworth.
