Biography

Ekaterina Semenchuk’s repertory includes her signature Verdi roles Azucena (Il trovatore), Eboli (Don Carlo), Amneris (Aida) and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), as well as Princess of Bouillon (Adriana Lecouvreur), Didon (Les Troyens), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Marina (Boris Godunov), Laura (La Gioconda), Lyubov (Mazeppa), Marfa (Khovanshchina), Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena), Preziosilla (La forza del destino) and the title role in Carmen. She has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Paris Opera, Teatro Real, Madrid, The Royal Opera, New National Theatre, Tokyo, San Francisco Opera, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, La Scala, Milan and at the Salzburg and Baden-Baden Festivals, while also maintaining a strong relationship with the Mariinsky Theatre. Recent highlights include Das Rheingold in Monte Carlo, Don Carlo at Bayerische Staatsoper, Il trovatore and Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci at Vienna State Opera and Macbeth in Zurich. Engagements for 2026/27 include Cavalleria rusticana for Teatro Regio, Turin, Werther in Las Palmas and Siegfried and Turandot in Monte Carlo.
