Biography
Elena Stikhina studied at the Moscow Conservatory and the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Centre. Awards include the Audience and CulturArte prizes in Operalia (2016), with subsequent debuts at Finnish National Opera, Paris Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper and the Metropolitan Opera following shortly after. She is now a regular guest at houses worldwide, with recent highlights including the title role in Tosca for Dutch National Opera, Vienna State Opera and Paris Opera, the title role in The Maid of Orleans for Dutch National Opera, the title role in Salome for Lyric Opera of Chicago, Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) for Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera, Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) and Elisabetta (Don Carlo) for Vienna State Opera and Amelia (Un ballo in Maschera) for Zurich Opera. Roles for The Royal Opera have included the title roles in Tosca and Aida. Engagements for 2026/27 include Don Carlo, Pique Dame and Manon Lescaut for Vienna State Opera, Aleko for Zurich Opera, Salome for Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Iolanta for Dutch National Opera.
