Elgan Llŷr Thomas is a former Harewood Artist at English National Opera. He made his debut with The Royal Opera as First Noble (Lohengrin). Elsewhere, he has sung Dr Richardson in Breaking the Waves (Opéra Comique); Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Scottish Opera); Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Opéra national de Bordeaux, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées); and Cassio in Otello and Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer (Grange Park Opera). Recordings include Orbin in Elgar’s Caractacus (Hyperion) and his debut song recital Unveiled with Iain Burnside and Craig Ogden (Delphian). Recent engagements have included Don Josë in La tragédie de Carmen (Buxton Festival); Gérald in Lakmé (Chelsea Opera Group); Prunier in La rondine (Opera North); Almaviva (Opera Holland Park); Tom Rakewell in The Rake’s Progress (Swedish Chamber Orchestra); and Unclean Beasts (Music Theatre Wales).
