Biography

Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid’s roles include Isolde (Tristan und Isolde), Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Brünnhilde (Siegfried), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Giorgetta (Il tabarro), Chrysothemis (Elektra) and the title roles of Rusalka and Salome. Recent engagements include appearances at Wagner Days Budapest, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, the Royal Operas of Stockholm and Copenhagen, Michigan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Bayreuth Festival, Baltic Sea Festival, Ravello Festival, Hong Kong Festival and houses in Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Oslo, Helsinki, Bologna, Geneva, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Mexico. Concert appearances include performances with Orchestra National di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Swedish Radio Orchestra. Recordings include Leuchtende Liebe (Beethoven and Wagner arias and scenes, Oehms Classics). She made her Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 Season as Senta. Engagements for 2025/26 include Els (Der Schatzgräber) at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Brünnhilde (Die Walküre) at Wagner Days Budapest and role debuts as Tosca at Finish National Opera and Turandot at Swedish Royal Opera Stockholm.
