Biography

Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid’s roles include Isolde (Tristan und Isolde), Elisabeth (Tannhäuser), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Brünnhilde (Siegfried), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Giorgetta (Il tabarro), Chrysothemis (Elektra) and the title roles in Rusalka and Salome. Recent engagements include Brünnhilde (Siegfried) with Orchestra National di Santa Cecilia and Daniel Harding, Brünnhilde (Die Walküre) at Wagner Days Budapest and for The Royal Opera (also Siegfried) and role debuts as Tosca at Finish National Opera and Turandot at Swedish Royal Opera Stockholm. Other appearances include roles with Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Danish Opera, Michigan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Bayreuth, Baltic Sea, Ravello and Hong Kong Festivals and houses in Madrid, Valencia, Sevilla, Oslo, Helsinki, Bologna, Geneva, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Mexico. Concert appearances include performances with Orchestra National di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Swedish Radio Orchestra. Recordings include Leuchtende Liebe (Beethoven and Wagner arias and scenes) on Oehms Classics). She made her Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 Season as Senta.
