Biography

American soprano Emily Pogorelc is a graduate of the Curtis Institute and a former member of Lyric Opera of Chicago's Ryan Opera Center and the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble. Recent engagements include Musetta (La bohème) and Pamina (The Magic Flute), Violetta (La traviata), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Amina (La sonnambula), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Ilia (Idomeneo), Adina (L'elisir d'amore) and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), together with recent role debuts as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Nannetta (Falstaff) and Marie (The Bartered Bride). Concert highlights include appearances at the Salzburg Festival, performances with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg under Pablo Heras-Casado and Camerata Salzburg and a debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Engagements for 2026/27 include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) for Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera, Adina for Vienna State Opera and Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) for Bayerische Staatsoper.
