Biography
Yorkshire-born pianist Ewan Gilford joined The Royal Ballet in 2026. He graduated from The Royal Northern College of Music with MMus. He spent a decade at Northern Ballet as company pianist and music director for their ballets for young audiences, including on international tours and television. Ewan has extensive experience as a song accompanist and opera répétiteur, including recitals at Royal Opera House and a recent CD recording of previously undiscovered Fanny Hensel (Mendelssohn) songs with tenor Tim Parker-Langston, recorded at the Mendelssohn-Haus, Leipzig. He has enjoyed outreach work for many organisations including Leeds International Piano Competition and Live Music Now, and has delivered educational Art Song projects for Leeds Song Festival, a project he helped to create in 2009.
