Biography

Sardinian tenor Francesco Demuro studied singing in Sassari and Cagliari. His opera repertory includes Alfredo Germont (La traviata), Rodolfo (La bohème), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Werther, Faust, Nadir (Les Pêcheurs de perles), Carlo (Linda di Chamounix), Arturo (I puritani), Elvino (La sonnambula), Nemorino (L'elisir d'amore), Fenton (Falstaff), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) and Roberto, Earl of Leicester (Maria Stuarda). He performs for opera companies worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Milan, Berlin State Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera, Arena di Verona, Vienna State Opera, Staatsoper Frankfurt, Paris Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Real, Madrid, Teatro di San Carlo, Naples, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, La Fenice, Venice and Liceu, Barcelona. He made his Royal Opera debut as Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi) in 2011 and has since returned for Alfredo and the Duke of Mantua. Engagements for 2025/26 include La sonnambula in Palermo and FalstaffWerther and Morricone's Partenope in Naples.
