Grammy Award-winning Canadian bass-baritone Gerald Finley has performed at opera houses and concert venues worldwide, and has an extensive discography on CD and DVD. His wide-ranging repertoire encompasses the music of Mozart, Wagner and Verdi as well as roles including Bluebeard and Guillaume Tell. Finley’s 2024/25 Season highlights included a new recording of Der fliegende Holländer, the title role in Macbeth at Vienna State Opera and Bayerische Staatsoper, Scarpia (Tosca) at Staatsoper unter den Linden, Antony and Cleopatra at the Metropolitan Opera, recitals with Isata Kanneh-Mason, and performing as a soloist for the First Night of the Proms. His 2025/26 Season includes Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) at Teatro alla Scala, Golaud (Pelléas et Mélisande) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Amfortas (Parsifal) at Wiener Staatsoper, Conte (Le nozze di Figaro) and Macbeth at Bayerische Staatsoper, and Bluebeard’s Castle at the Verbier Festival. His most recent Royal Opera appearances include: Helge (Festen), Scarpia, Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) and Wolfram (Tannhäuser). He sings the role of Scarpia (Tosca) at the Royal Opera House in the 2025/26 Season.
