Biography

Armenian baritone Grisha Martirosyan joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2023/24 Season. He is a graduate of the Yerevan State Conservatory and the Mascarade Emerging Artists Programme.  He also spent a term at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the Erasmus Exchange+ programme. Awards include the First, Audience and Special Prizes at the Virgilijus Noreika International Singing Competition (2023), First, Audience and Joan Sutherland Special Prizes at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition (2022), Second and Audience Prizes at the Magda Olivero International Singing Competition (2022) and First Prize at the Gohar Gasparian National Singing Competition (2019). In 2023, he made his Salzburg Festival debut in Macbeth as a member of the Salzburg Young Singers Project. His 2023/24 Royal Opera roles included Marullo (Rigoletto), Cesare Angelotti (Tosca) and Moralès (Carmen). His 2024/25 roles include Barone Douphol (La traviata)Hermann/Schlemil (The Tales of Hoffmann), Moralès and the title role of Pimpinone in the Linbury Theatre.
