Biography

British mezzo-soprano Heather Lowe studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio. Previous engagements include Dido in Dido and Aeneas and Orfeo in Orfeo ed Euridice (The Grange Festival), Angelina in La Cenerentola (The Grange Festival, West Green House Opera), Rosina in The Barber of Seville (Opera North, Welsh National Opera, Opera Holland Park), Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and Phoebe in The Yeomen of the Guard (English National Opera), Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro‚ Sesto in Giulio Cesare and Lel in The Snowmaiden (ON), Mrs Noye in Noye’s Fludde (The Manchester Collective), Dorabella (Northern Ireland Opera, Dorset Opera) and Tisbe in La Cenerentola (WNO, OHP). International appearances include Berthe (Blond Eckbert) in Potsdam. Her 2024/25 season engagements include Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Opéra de Lausanne and Rosina at Teatru Manoel.
