Biography

Chilean soprano Isabela Díaz joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2023/24 Season. She is a graduate of the University of Chile and Higher Institute of Art at the Teatro Colón. Roles at Teatro Colón include Serpetta and Sandrina (La finta giardiniera), Ingrata (Altri canti d’Amor), Norina (Don Pasquale) and Susanna and Zerlina in the ‘Mozart Lyric Gala’ and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Valencienne (Die Lustige Witwe) for the Juventus Lyrica Company. As soprano soloist she has appeared at Teatro Colón (Selva morale e Spirituale and Theodora), Teatro Argentino de la Plata (Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Solomon), at the Municipal Theatre of Santiago (Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach’s Magnificat) and at the SODRE Theater. Her 2023/24 roles included Frasquita (Carmen) and Sandman (Hansel and Gretel) for The Royal Opera, soprano soloist for The Royal Ballet (Fauré Requiem), and Brigitta (Iolanta) for The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  2024/25 Royal Opera roles include Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Jana (Jenůfa) and Vespetta (Pimpinone).
