Biography
Ivan Gyngazov graduated from the M.I. Glinka Novosibirsk State Conservatory in 2013. He is a former Novosibirsk Opera soloist (2013–17), where roles included Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Vladimir Igorevich (Prince Igor) and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly). Since 2017 he has been a soloist at Helikon Opera, Moscow. Recent engagements include Aida in Hong Kong, Turandot for Semperoper Dresden and Staatsoper Stuttgart and Tosca for Vienna State Opera. Other highlights include Vaudémont (Iolanta) and Huldbrand (Undine) for Theater an der Wien, Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) for the Mariinsky Theatre, Lensky for Teatro Petruzzelli, Bari, Ismaele (Nabucco) for Semperoper Dresden, the title role in Sadko for the Bolshoi, his Paris Opera (Bastille) debut in concerts dedicated to Tchaikovsky, Calaf (Turandot) for Sydney Opera House, Hong-Kong and Vienna State Opera, Manrico (Il trovatore) for Teatro Nacional de São Carlos and Don José (Carmen) for Staatsoper Berlin. Engagements for 2026/27 include Cavalleria rusticana for Teatro Regio, Turin, Andréa Chenier for Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and Pique Dame for Vienna State Opera and Bayerische Staatsoper.
