Biography
Jaap Blonk (born 1953, Woerden, NL) is a self-taught composer, performer and poet who has pushed the human voice to its outer limits for over four decades. Rooted in sound poetry and free improv traditions, Blonk combines an almost childlike freedom in vocal improvisation with a fierce structural intelligence – performing across all continents and collaborating with artists of all kinds, while his own label Kontrans documents a sprawling output of 30 releases and counting.
