Jake Arditti
Biography
Jake Arditti made his professional stage debut at the age of 11 as Yniold (Pelléas et Mélisande) for the Glyndebourne Festival and ENO. More recently, his engagements as a countertenor have included the title roles of Rinaldo for the Bolshoi Theatre, Glyndebourne and Sydney Opera, and Serse (Longborough and Opéra de Rouen, Normandie), as well as Erissena (Alessandro nell’Indie) at Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival and Sesto (Giulio Cesare) for Teatro Colón and Theater an der Wien. In concert he has performed Olga Neuwirth’s Hommage à Klaus Nomi (Paris Philharmonie, Cité de la Musique, Strasbourg). Further engagements include Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) for Wiener Kammeroper, Voice of Apollo in Death in Venice (Stuttgart and Opéra National du Rhin), Prince Gogo (Le grand macabre) in Essen, and Max Richter’s SUM (the Royal Opera). 2024/25 highlights included the Swan in Orff‘s Trionfi for Staatsoper Hamburg, Nerone in L’incoronazione di Poppea (Nederlandse Reisopera) and David in Saul (Semperoper Dresden). In the 2025/26 Royal Opera Season, he sings Amanzio in Giustino.
