Biography
For The Royal Opera, Jennifer France has sung First Niece (Peter Grimes), Alice (Alice’s Adventures Under Ground), Iphis (Jephtha) and Despina (Così fan tutte). Other engagements include Tytania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Glyndebourne, Cecily Cardew (The Importance of Being Earnest) for Garsington, the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor (Opera Holland Park), Dusapin’s Il Viaggio, Dante (Paris Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival), Ariadne auf Naxos (Bayerische Staatsoper, Nederlandse Reisopera, Scottish Opera, Opera North), Medeamaterial (Salzburg Festival), Semele (Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe), Lessons in Love and Violence (Dutch National Opera), Hamlet (Glyndebourne on Tour), It’s A Wonderful Life (English National Opera) and The Cunning Little Vixen and Flight (Opera Holland Park, Scottish Opera). She is a winner of the Critics’ Circle Emerging Talent Award (2018) and was nominated for the 2016 Schaunard Award. Engagements for 26/27 include George Benjamin’s Into the Little Hill (Opera Comique), Adina in L’elisir d’amore (Grange Park Opera) and concert performances with the LA Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic.
