Biography

Korean baritone Josef Jeongmeen Ahn is a graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, Seoul National University and Mainz School of Music. He also attended the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding and trained at the National Opera Studio. He is a former Jette Parker Artist (2022–25), where roles included Prince Yamadori (Madama Butterfly), Angelotti (Tosca), Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia), The Hunter (Rusalka), Segeste (Arminio), Flemish Deputy (Don Carlo), Baron Duphol (La traviata), Marullo (Rigoletto), Schaunard (La bohème) and baritone soloist for The Royal Ballet (Fauré’s Requiem). Roles elsewhere have included Malatesta (Don Pasquale) for Scottish Opera, Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) for Opéra de Toulon, Dandini (La Cenerentola) for Bregenz Festival and Baron Douphol for Volksoper Wien. Engagements for 2026/27 include Ping (Turandot) for Opera Holland Park and Scottish Opera and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) for Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
