Biography

Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan's awards include the Grand Prize at the International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition, where she also received the Marcella Sembrich-Kochańska and the Katowice City of Gardens – Krystyna Bochenek Cultural Institution Prize, the First Prize and Audience Prize at the 2022 Operalia Competition, and the 2024 Hilde Behrens Prize, in celebration of the 87th anniversary of Behrens’ birthday. She has performed internationally, at houses including La Scala, Milan, the Metropolitan Opera, Dutch National Opera, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Massimo di Palermo and Arena di Verona, and has collaborated with artists including Plácido Domingo and Riccardo Muti. Recent highlights include performances alongside Andrea Bocelli for his European and American concert tours and her role debut as Violetta in La traviata at the Royal Opera House Muscat. Engagements for 2025/26 include Mimì (La bohème) at the Metropolitan Opera and in Modena and Munich, and Liù (Turandot) at Atlanta Opera.
