Biography

British soprano Kate Royal won the 2004 Kathleen Ferrier Award and 2007 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award. Operatic roles include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Ades’ Miranda (The Tempest) for the Royal Opera House, Die Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier), Pamina, Micaëla (Carmen), Female Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia) and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) for the Glyndebourne Festival, Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) forTeatro Real, Madrid and Glyndebourne, Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea) for English National Opera, Handel (L’Allegro) and Pamina for Paris Opera, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) for the Aix-en-Provence Festival and Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice) and Micaëla for the Metropolitan Opera. Concert appearances include with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Simon Rattle, Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst, Rotterdam Philharmonic under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, New York Philharmonic under Alan Gilbert and London Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding.
