Biography
Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Kseniia Nikolaieva studied at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music and holds Master’s degrees in Opera and Architectural Design. She was a member of the National Opera Studio, and a Jette Parker Artist (2020–22) at the Royal Opera House, where her roles included Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Giovanna (Rigoletto), Annina (La traviata) and Bessie (Mahagonny Songspiel. 2025/26 Season highlights include her Wexford Festival Opera debut as Azucena (Le trouvère) and Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) at the Edinburgh International Festival and BBC Proms with the LSO. Other recent highlights include Voice from Above (Die Frau ohne Schatten) at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Third Lady (The Magic Flute) and Mary (Der fliegende Holländer) at the Royal Opera House, Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride) at Kyiv National Opera, Mother (Mavra) at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, La Cieca (La Gioconda) at Teatro di San Carlo, and Amneris (Aida) at Oper im Steinbruch.
