Biography

Leah Hausman co-directed and choreographed Into The Woods (Bath Theatre Royal), The Damnation of Faust (Berlin State Opera, ENO, Opera Vlaanderen, Teatro Massimo, Palermo) and Benvenuto Cellini (ENO, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris) and was associate director for The Galloping Cure (Scottish Opera), Khovanshchina (Osterfestspiele Salzbug), Wozzeck (Festival d’Aix-en-Provence), Macbeth (Chicago), The Rake’s Progress (Aix-en-Provence Festival, DNO, Moscow) and Rusalka (Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto). She was revival director for A Midsummer Night’s Dream (New National Theatre, Tokyo). Other movement credits include: Murder on the Orient Express (UK and China Tour), L’elisir d’amore and La bohème (Glyndebourne Festival), Billy Budd (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Pelléas et Mélisande and Madama Butterfly (Scottish Opera), Il trovatore (Chicago, Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco) and La Sonnambula, Don Carlos, Tosca, Norma, Roberto Devereux and Maria Stuarda (Metropolitan Opera). For The Royal Opera, she has been associate director for Death in Venice, Aida and Les Troyens, and movement director for The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro, Rigoletto, Il turco in Italia and Elektra (The Royal Opera).
