Biography

Tenor Leonardo Caimi has performed at houses across the UK and Europe, including at the Royal Opera House, La Scala, Milan, Teatro Real, Madrid, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Colón, Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Salzburg Festival. Career highlights include the title role of Don Carlo in Berlin, Don José (Carmen) in Berlin, Leipzig and Madrid, Calaf (Turandot) in Leipzig (for four seasons), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) and Rodolfo (for six seasons) for the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago, Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) for Teatro di San Carlo, Naples, and Rodolfo and Roberto (Le Villi) for Maggio Musicale, Florence. He made his Hollywood debut in Michael Mann’s 2023 film Ferrari as Brusoni the Tenor. His 2024/25 Season engagements include Luigi (Il tabarro) for Welsh National Opera, Don José (Carmen) in Buenos Aires, Prague and Sidney,  Manrico (Il trovatore) in the Summer Festival of Braunschweig, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) in Catania and the world premiere of Pepita Jiménez by D. Luis de Vargas for Teatro de la Zarzuela, Madrid.
