Biography
Lorenzo Passerini is Chief Conductor of Jyväskylä Sinfonia and a former trombonist. He began his conducting career as the Artistic Director of Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi, which he co-founded with composer Piergiorgio Ratti. Highlights include La bohème at Vienna State Opera, La Sonnambula at Liceu Barcelona and in Naples, Tosca and Macbeth in Savonlinna, Il tabarro/Le villi in Las Palmas, La Cenerentola in Houston, Il barbiere di Siviglia in Pesaro and at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Medea in Toronto, Carmina Burana at National Opera Warsaw, Faust and Aida in Sydney, Luisa Miller and Lucia di Lammermoor in Hamburg, Rigoletto and Norma in Naples, La bohème and The Pearl Fishers at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Norma in Palermo. Engagements for 2025/26 include La forza del destino in Bilbao, Carmen in Dresden, Madama Butterfly in Frankfurt and Werther in Naples. He makes his debut with The Royal Opera in the 2025/26 Season with La bohème.
