Biography
British soprano Louise Alder performs worldwide at theatres including the Royal Opera House, Vienna Sate Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, Carnegie Hall and at the Wigmore Hall, where she held an artistic residency in 2024. Recent highlights include her house and role debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Zdenka (Arabella), Micaëla (Carmen) for San Francisco Opera, Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro) for Glyndebourne, Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) for Vienna State Opera and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) for Bayerische Staatsoper. Concert highlights include star soprano soloist at the Last Night of the BBC Proms, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Luxembourg Philharmonic and Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Mozart’s Requiem with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Previous roles for The Royal Opera include Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro). Engagements for 2026/27 include the title role in Semele for Bayerische Staatsoper and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) for Vienna State Opera.
