Biography

Since her international breakthrough at the Salzburg Festival in 2009 under Riccardo Muti, Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka has been a regular guest at concert halls and opera houses worldwide, including La Scala, Paris Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Bavarian State Opera, Vienna State Opera and Zurich Opera. Her regular collaborators include the conductors Muti, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Daniele Gatti. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to bel canto, Verdi, Tchaikovsky and Britten. 2024/25 engagements included the title roles in Medèe and Norma at La Scala, as well as Madama Butterfly (Vienna, Zurich) and Don Carlos (Paris). Engagements for 2025/26 include her debut in Nabucco at Teatro di San Carlo, a European tour of Verdi’s Requiem with the Zurich Opera Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda, Il trovatore at Teatro Real, and Faust at La Scala. Her previous roles for The Royal Opera include Violetta (La traviata) and Leonora (Il trovatore).
