Biography
Mark Saberton studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He performed and recorded the role of Ben Budge (The Beggar's Opera) for The Royal Opera. He has also worked with Houses including English National Opera, Opera North and Scottish Opera. His previous engagements include Bottom (A Midsummer Night's Dream) for Longborough Festival Opera, the title role in Rigoletto for Kentish Opera, Scarpia (Tosca) for Heritage Opera, Méphistophélès (Faust) for Swansea City Opera, Antonio (Marriage of Figaro) for Garsington Opera, Narumov (Queen of Spades) for Opera Holland Park and Hotel Waiter (Death in Venice) for the Aldeburgh and Bregenz Festivals. Recent engagements include Shoulder to Shoulder by Lenny Sayers, and a variety of acting roles in Keith Warner's production of King Lear at the Grange Festival. He performs on the concert platform widely, and often in his native Suffolk with Joe Richardson. He sings Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro in the 2025/26 Royal Opera Season.
